ALS Breakthrough! How Arguing with AI Revealed a Hidden Cause- and Patient Zero’s Miracle Results Point to Hope for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Beyond
Jeff Bowles starts with the hypothesis that the answers for all diseases are already available and one only has to find the pieces and put them together. In his past, he spent hours, days, months at the medical school libraries searching for these pieces on aging and particularly vitamin D. Now with the collaboration of AI, coauthors Grok 3 and Perplexity, his ability to do these deep dives magnifies enormously.
Personally I love untangling these puzzles. Our binary health care platform fails at every turn because of its inability to solve our complex health issues. And we can only benefit by learning from those willing and taking the time to piece together the aspects missed by studies concentrating on singly variables.
This book is a geeky ride. The format documents the searches and the careful and skillful direction to AI. AI has flaws and it’s the human element that can redirect and compile and insist on accuracy. We still have the garbage in and garbage out problem with our interfaces. How can we know that the AI generated responses have been compiled with all available information or not? It isn’t. Information is still restricted by paywalls. But soon we may truly have access to the world’s whole knowledge unfettered by language barriers.
But enough editorializing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and without giving up its secrets believe that Jeff Bowles has uncovered information that can change the course of much human suffering. The book concentrates on ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s but its information has an application across all chronic disease. I have already made changes in my personal health journey and so will you.
